 A complex we can all be proud of

Concept plans for the hub reflect the Council’s commitment to providing a multiuse complex that builds on and expands the facilities at Hicks Park in central Hawera.

All while ensuring it remains affordable to potential users through operating subsidies. It’s a prudent approach that will deliver a cost-effective sports, events and recreation centre for the 21st century.

We asked our architects to provide for the widest possible range of indoor and outdoor sports and events, with shared facilities where practicable.

There will be an indoor area with room for three netball-sized courts that can either be used for tournaments or segmented for individual games.

Spectators can relax in an upstairs lounge-dining-bar area with views to the court area below or to the outdoor sports fields.

the hub also will address South Taranaki’s need for a large venue for conferences, exhibitions, concerts and hobbyist gatherings, all of which can be expected to boost district visitor numbers and flow through to increased business turnover.
