the hub tee shirt winner Mandy Greig of Hawera and her son Stephen, a Hawera High School student, expect to be frequent visitors to the hub.

Stephen and his sister Michelle are involved in a wide range of sports and Mandy's looking forward to being able to enjoy top-line facilities at the new district sports, events and leisure complex to built at Hick's Park in Hawera starting next year.

As a junior primary school teacher at nearby Normanby she's also involved with the upcoming generation of district children who will be making good use of the hub for sporting and cultural events.

"It's going to be great for the district, for everything from concerts to sports tournaments," says Mandy.

Other winners in the Southlink hub tee shirts lucky draw were Vincent Baylis (Okaiawa); Shirley Maher (Patea). All provided the correct answer to the question about the hub being designed to cater for sports, events and recreation.

Tee-shirts in stylish dark blue with the hub logo are available for sale at $30 each as a fundraiser for the project. Call the Council on 0800 323 111 for details.
